Erika Schwarz

Erika Schwarz (born December 17, 1950 in Haynrode ) is a German historian and author.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1969, Erika Schwarz studied history and German at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Here doctorate her 1977 doctor of philosophy and was until 1994 as a research assistant at the Department of German history from 1918 to 1945 of the Scientific Institute of history at this university operates. From 1997 to 2002 she worked on research projects at the Ravensbrück Memorial / Brandenburg Memorials Foundation: 1997–1999 “The Origin of the Ravensbrück National Memorial and Memorial” and 2000–2002 “The Subcamps of the Former Ravensbrück Concentration Camp”. She is the author and co-author of publications on the Holocaust and Brandenburg regional history.

Erika Schwarz is married to Gerhard Schwarz.
