Ernst Geyer

Ernst Geyer  (born April 4, 1945  in Rosenheim ) is a German journalist and film producer .

Career

After graduating from high school, Ernst Geyer studied sociology and social psychology at the LMU Munich and graduated with a diploma in 1974. In 1970 he became a freelance employee at Bavarian Radio / Television , from 1975 to 1978 he was a research assistant at the State Institute for School Education. He returned to Bayerischer Rundfunk in 1978. He worked as an editor in the vocational and vocational training departments (until 1983), then in the  family editorial team , which he took over in 1990.

Geyer initiated and was responsible for the series Job & Pop, Live from Alabama , Live from the Schlachthof , the women's magazine “Die da!”, The daily talk Pfarrer Fliege, the children's series Zappzarapp, the TV series Sedlmayr , the last season in the series Pumuckl and the first TV series by and with Alfons Schuhbeck .

In 1996 Geyer became the founding program director of the children's channel (KIKA) , and in 1997 he developed and headed the programming department of the German pay-TV digital platform, DF1 . From 1999 he switched to the German TV series and children's programs department at Kirchmedia . He founded the production company Moviepool in 2003 and took over its management. Geyer has been a managing partner of the Münchner Freiheit film office since 2012.

Ernst Geyer founded the gallery and vinotheque Galerie Villa Maria in Bad Aibling in 1995 , a gallery for artists working in the region with supra-regional importance and a vinotheque with a focus on organically grown wines. 

Ernst Geyer lives and works in Munich and Bad Aibling.
