Ersen is a district of Liebenau in the northern Hessian district of Kassel .

Geographical location

The village is located on the northern slopes of the Habichtswälder Bergland at the transition to the Warburger Börde about 100 m south of the Diemel valley . The distance to the core city of Liebenau is 4 km, to Warburg 7 km, to Hofgeismar 10 km and to Kassel in the south-east 24 km (both as the crow flies ).

history

Numerous finds and grave sites bear witness to the settlement of the area around Ersen dating back to the Neolithic Age. Ersen was first mentioned in a document in 1432.

As part of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Ersen became a district of Liebenau on April 1, 1972.

Infrastructure

The federal highways 7 , 83 and 241 run near the village . The next motorway junctions are Warburg and Breuna on the A44 .

In Warburg and Liebenau there are regional train stations on the course book route 430 Hamm - ( Paderborn ) -Kassel. The next ICE / IC train station is Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe .

Holiday destinations in the Mediterranean area can be reached from the nearby Kassel-Calden regional airport . Charter flights are offered from Paderborn / Lippstadt Airport , about 50 kilometers away .

Ersen is still a rural village with no industry and practically no tourist infrastructure.
