Eselsberg , in Upper Sorbian Wósliča hora , is a district of the municipality Boxberg / OL in the district of Görlitz in Saxony . Eselsberg has been a part of Kringelsdorf since January 1, 1929 .

Eselsberg is located in Upper Lusatia . Surrounding villages are Wilhelmsfeld in the north, Reichwalde in the east, Dürrbach in the south and Kringelsdorf in the west. The Schwarze Schöps and Jahmener Fliess flow through the village . Furthermore, the Saxon state road 131 runs through the village.

history

Eselsberg was first mentioned in a document in 1419, at that time under the name czum Ezilsberge . In the period that followed, the place name changed from Esilsberg (1474) to Eselsberge (1515) and Eßelsberge (1569) to today's Eselsberg in 1768. In 1777 the village was partly under the lordship of Muskau and the manors Dürrbach and Reichwalde These two goods belonged to the Count von der Schulenburg auf Jahmen since around 1800; therefore the place is divided into a part Muskau and a part Jahmer. Eselsberg belongs since 1555 to the parish Klitten .

After the Congress of Vienna Eselsberg came with northeastern Upper Lusatia to Prussia and belonged to the district of Rothenburg in the administrative district of Liegnitz . On January 1, 1929 Eselsberg was incorporated into Kringelsdorf . Eselsberg was part of the municipality in the Rothenburg district (Ob. Laus.) . On January 16, 1947, the seat of the previous district was changed to Niesky and the name accordingly. For the GDR district reform of July 25, 1952, the community Kringelsdorf with the district Eselsberg was assigned to the newly formed district Weißwasser . After the turn of the village belonged initially continue for county white water and came to the district reform in Saxony on 1 August 1994 for Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis . On April 1, 1996, Kringelsdorf came with Eselsberg to the municipality of Boxberg / OL. Since the district reform in Saxony on August 1, 2008 , Eselsberg has been in the Görlitz district .
