Espiye is a Turkish city and at the same time the administrative center of the district of the same name . The city is located about 32 km east of the provincial capital Giresun . The place was raised to a municipality ( Belediye ) in 1954 and is located on the Black Sea coast between the estuaries of Yağlıdere Çayı in the west and Gelevera Deresi in the east.
The county was split off from Tirebolu County in 1957. It is bordered to the west by the county Kesap , the south by the county Yağlıdere and on the east by the circles Tirebolu and Güce . The population density is more than twice as high as the provincial average of 64.6 inhabitants per km².
In addition to the district town, there is Soğukpınar (2,254 inhabitants), another municipality (Belediye). The district also includes 31 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 352 residents. Ericek is the largest village with 899 inhabitants.
