Dereli is a Turkish city ​​at the same time as the administrative center of the district of the same name in the province of Giresun . The city is located about 33 km south of the provincial capital Giresun . 1958 the place was raised to the municipality ( Belediye ).

The district borders the central Giresun district ( Merkez ) and Bulancak district in the northwest, Keşap district in the northeast, Yağlıdere district in the east, Alucra district in the southeast and Şebinkarahisar district in the south. It has a narrow border in the southwest with the district of Mesudiye ( Ordu Province ).

In addition to the district town, the district also consists of another Belediye ( Yavuzkemal , 2,865 inhabitants) and 34 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 353 inhabitants. Calca is the largest village (835 inhabitants).
