Bulancak is a Turkish coastal city on the Black Sea and at the same time the administrative center of the district of the same name in the Giresun province. The city is located approx. 15 km west of the provincial capital Giresun .

Bulancak County borders on Central County ( Merkez ) in the east and Piraziz County in the east, and Ordu Province in the southwest . Its population density is above the provincial average of 65 (inh / km²). The Pazarsuyu Deresi River flows through the district in a northerly direction and flows into the Black Sea.
In addition to the district town (2018: 64.3% of the district population), the district consists of two other municipalities ( Belediye ): Aydındere (2,753) and Kovanlık (2,468 pop .). Furthermore there are 59 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 315 inhabitants, of which Pazarsuyu , east of Bulacak, is the largest with 935 inhabitants. The village of Arifli (2017: 368 inh .) Has been the 17th district ( Mahalle ) of the district town since 2018 (2018: 594 inh.).
Sports
The football club Bulancakspor has been based in Bulancak since it was founded in 1926 and played in the fifth-class Boelgesel Amatoer Lig , the highest amateur class in Turkish football, in the 2014/15 season .
