Çanakçı is a Turkish city and at the same time the administrative center of the district of the same name in the province of Giresun . The city is located about 56 km (76 km by road) east of the provincial capital Giresun .

Çanakçı County borders on Tirebolu County in the north , Görele County in the east and Doğankent County in the southeast . In addition, the provinces of Trabzon in the east and Gümüşhane in the southeast form the border. The district has the lowest population of all 16 districts in the province, its population density is below the provincial average (of 64.6 inhabitants per km²).
The newly formed district was split off from the southern part of the Görele district in 1990. Until then, all places belonged to the Bucak Çanakçı of this district. The last population information before the change of area comes from the 1985 census and showed 13,612 inhabitants, of which 4,329 inhabitants for the Bucak main town ( Bucak Merkezi ) Çanakçı.
At the end of 2018, the district consisted of 15 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 302 inhabitants per village (total population of all villages: 4,523 inhabitants) in addition to the district town . The village of Karabörk is the largest with 847 inhabitants.
