Eudicotyledons

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The cornflower also belongs to this group

The eudicotyledons are a group of flowering plants , which includes a large part of the dicotyledons (= dicotyledons). According to the systematics of the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group , they are not a separate taxon and in terms of size they essentially correspond to the earlier class of three-furrow pollen dicotyledons .

features

The eudicotyledons have like the basal orders of the bedecktsamer two cotyledons . However, they lack their essential oils in idioblasts . The organs of the flower are in whorls . The pollen grains have three germinal furrows (are tricolpat) or are derived forms.

Systematics

The eudicotyledons comprise a large part of the flowering plants. Her sister group are the Ceratophyllales .

They themselves are divided into two large groups, the rosids and asterids, at the base of which there are some orders. Within the eudicotyledons these are:

The other eudicotyledons are often summarized in the so-called nuclear eudicotyledons, for example in APG III from 2009, but no longer in APG IV 2016, which is why they are no longer listed as a group here. The kernel eudicotyledons are characterized largely by five-fold flower covers, while the previous orders are quite variable here. They have tricolor pollen grains and contain ellagic acid .

The other groups of eudicotyledons are:

Superrosides

Super asterids

The eudicotyledon cladogram looks like this:

Ranunculales

Proteales

Trochodendrales

Buxales

Gunnerales

 Superrosides

Rosids

Saxifragales

Dilleniales

 Super asterids

Berberidopsidales

Santalales
