Eutelsat 33C (original name Eutelsat W1R , thereafter Eurobird 1 and Eutelsat 28A ) is or was a television satellite of the European Telecommunications Satellite Organization ( Eutelsat ) based in Paris.
The satellite was launched in 2001 from the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana . It is equipped with 20 Ku transponders.
On March 1, 2012, Eutelsat unified the names of its satellites around the brand name, so the satellite was named Eutelsat 28A after its position at the time .
In July 2015 the satellite was moved to the new position 33 ° East and was given the designation Eutelsat 33C . In June 2019, only Eutelsat 33E was listed in this position .
