Eutelsat 12 West B is a television satellite of the European Telecommunications Satellite Organization ( Eutelsat ) based in Paris.
The satellite was launched in 2001 under the name Atlantic Bird 2 . When Eutelsat changed the designation system of the satellites on March 1, 2012, it was named Eutelsat 8 West A according to its orbital position 8 ° West . In 2015, it was replaced by Eutelsat 8 West D and moved to 12.5 degrees West and was given the name Eutelsat 12 West B .
