Eva Segmüller (born January 21, 1932 in Zurich ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Segmüller graduated in Biel the Matura and then studied at the University of Zurich Romance . Then she worked as a medical-scientific clerk and translator . From 1972 to 1984 she was President of the St. Gallen-Appenzell Catholic Women's Association. In 1995 Segmüller initiated the founding of the Swiss Spitex Association, of which she was first president from 1995 to 2002. She served as Vice President of the Gen Schweiz Foundation from 1991 to 2003.

From 1976 to 1980 St. Gallen sat for the CVP in the Cantonal Council and from 1979 to 1995 in the National Council , where she was responsible for family , health and foreign policy . Segmüller presided over the CVP from 1987 to 1992, making it the first woman to head a Federal Council party.
