Raymond Evéquoz

Raymond Evéquoz (born May 11, 1863 in Conthey ; † June 19, 1945 in Sion ; resident in Conthey) was a Swiss politician ( Conservative-Christian-Social People's Party ).

biography

Evéquoz completed his Matura and law school in Sion . He then studied law at the Universities of Paris , Berlin and Bonn . In 1885 he received the Notary and 1888 the bar exam . From 1888 to 1889 he worked as sub-prefect and from 1889 to 1927 as prefect of the Conthey district . He headed the Swiss Bar Association .

From 1889 to 1941 Evéquoz was a conservative Valais Grand Councilor and its President from 1895 to 1897. After the parliamentary elections from 1902 to 1928, he sat in the National Council , which he presided over from 1923/24 , then from 1928 to 1943 in the Council of States . From 1933 Evéquoz was president of the conservative party of the Valais, from 1934 to 1935 he served as president of the Conservative-Christian-Social People's Party of Switzerland, today's CVP .
