Max Albert Rohr (born April 25, 1890 in Mägenwil , † July 24, 1980 in Meggen , legal resident in Mägenwil, since 1945 in Baden ) was a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Max Rohr was born on April 25, 1890 in Mägenwil as the son of the notary Albert Rohr and Maria Josefa nee Meier. From 1904 to 1910, Max Rohr first attended the Abbey School of Einsiedeln , before studying law at the universities of Zurich , Munich , Bern and Leipzig between 1910 and 1914 , which he obtained in 1914 with the academic degree of Dr. iur. completed. After obtaining the advocacy patent for the canton of St. Gallen in 1916, he worked as a lawyer in Baden from 1925.

Max Rohr married Hildegard Maria Josephine Paulina, born Schleich , from Lindau in 1919 . He died on July 24, 1980, three months after turning 90 in Meggen.

Political career

Max Rohr, member of the Conservative People's Party (today: Christian Democratic People's Party), was initially on the Central School Council from 1918 to 1921, and then on the St. Gallen City Council until 1925 . Subsequently, he represented his party from 1929 to 1958 in the Aargau Grand Council , from 1941 to 1942 as President. At the same time he took a seat on the National Council for the canton from 1933 to 1959 . In addition, he presided over the Conservative People's Party from 1950 to 1955.

Max Rohr's commitment was to the Fahr Monastery at the cantonal level , while at the federal level he was preparing the repeal of the confessional exception articles.
