The Evangelical Church of Kautenbach is one of two churches in the Evangelical Church Community of Bernkastel-Kues of the Rhenish Regional Church in the church district of Trier. Politically, Kautenbach belongs to the city of Traben-Trarbach .

history

The former miners' village, first mentioned in a document in 1334, is separated from the Kautenbach into two denominational parts. In the 18th century the village experienced a certain boom due to mining. The Catholic branch church of St. Maria Himmelfahrt was built in the Catholic district from 1871–1874 .

For the Protestant residents of Kautenbach, who still belong to the parish of Bernkastel-Kues today, the small church was built at the end of the 19th century and consecrated on September 5, 1897.

use

The church is one of two churches and four preaching sites of the Protestant parish of Bernkastel. A little over 70 parishioners currently live in the Kautenbach district. There is a service here about once a month and on festive days.
