The Evangelical Church Bollenbach is a church in Bollenbach in Hunsrück the evangelical church Rhaunen - Hausen , in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland-Palatinate . It goes to the early 8./9. Century back.

The branch church originally belonged to the parish of Hausen , since the beginning of the 18th century to Rhaunen . The place is attested in 1331 as part of the High Court of Rhaunen. The church was given a new floor in 1621 and in 1719 the current building was erected, possibly using older remains.

Architecture and equipment

The plastered, quarry stone hall church with a three-sided choir closure is 9.80 m long, 7.30 m wide and 4 m high. On the north side there is a pointed arched door with the year 1719. It has four flat-arched windows and a slated roof turret with an eight-arched tip. Inside is a flat wooden barrel in a half-timbered construction with tie-rods. The pews are from the time the church was built.

use

The church is one of two churches in the former parish of Hausen, which had been parochial with Rhaunen since 2004 and merged in 2012. Since 2011 there has been a connection between the community of Rhaunen-Hausen and Hottenbach-Stipshausen. Services are held roughly every one to two months.
