Evening Standard British Film Award : Best Actress

Winners of the Evening Standard British Film Awards in the category Best Actress ( Best Actress ). The British Film Prize selects the best national film productions and filmmakers of the past calendar year and is usually awarded at the beginning of February.

Most successful in this category were Maggie Smith and Emma Thompson , who have won the award three times, followed by Glenda Jackson , Natasha Richardson , Kristin Scott Thomas , Billie Whitelaw and Kate Winslet with two wins each. The winner agreed eight times with the later BAFTA winner , four times (1975, 1980, 1993, 2003) with the later Oscar winner.
