Expo 95
Expo 95 was the name of a world exhibition planned jointly by Vienna and Budapest for 1995 , but it was never realized.
The idea of holding a world exhibition developed in the two competing cities in the 1980s. Soon afterwards the vision of a joint world exhibition matured; Specifically, the Vienna City Councilor for Culture Jörg Mauthe is said to have proposed this joint world exhibition.
After a lot of preparatory work, however, the Viennese decided against holding the world exhibition in a referendum in May 1991 .
