Fabricio Coloccini (born January 22, 1982 in Cordoba , Argentina ) is an Argentine football player .
Career
society
The defender made his debut in 1998 at the age of 16 with Boca Juniors in the Argentine Primera División. In 1999 he was discovered and signed by the top Italian club AC Milan . Coloccini continued to play in Argentina for the next few years, on loan from Boca Juniors (1999/2000) and San Lorenzo (2000/01).
The 2001 junior world champion was then awarded from Milan to Spain. He played at Deportivo Alavés in 2001/02 , where the 19-year-old defender scored six goals in 33 games and was considered one of the greatest talents in the Spanish league. The following season he played at Atlético Madrid , and 2003/04 at Villarreal ; that season he reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup with Villarreal .
For the 2004/05 season Coloccini was brought back to Italy from AC Milan. He was only used in one game for the Milanese in the first half of the season. Dissatisfied with his role on the bench, he moved to Deportivo La Coruña in January 2005 , where he had a contract until 2011. However, he moved to England in the summer break of 2008 and signed with the Premier League club Newcastle United . At Newcastle, Coloccini was a regular player, but had to go to the Football League Championship in his first season at the club . Coloccini completed 34 missions during the season. The following season ended with a direct resurgence; here Coloccini came on 37 missions in which he met twice. In the following season he contributed 35 missions (two hits) to the successful relegation of the club from Newcastle upon Tyne .
National team
In 2001 Coloccini won the Junior World Cup with Argentina in their own country. He made his debut in the Argentine national team on April 30, 2003. Coloccini won the gold medal with Argentina at the 2004 Olympic Games and took part in the 2004 Copa America , the 2005 Confederations Cup and the 2006 World Cup.
