Adolfo Julián Gaich (born February 26, 1999 in Bengolea , Juárez Celman ) is an Argentine football player who is under contract with the Russian first division club CSKA Moscow . The striker is known as El Tanque (The Tank) due to his physical presence and style of play and has been the Argentina international since September 2019 .

Career

society

Gaich played in the youth of various amateur clubs before joining the youth department of CA San Lorenzo de Almagro in 2014 . For the 2018/19 season he was promoted to the first team by head coach Claudio Biaggio . He made his debut in the top Argentinian league on August 27 (3rd matchday) in a 1-1 draw against Unión de Santa Fe , when he came on in the 60th minute for Nicolás Blandi . As a result, he penetrated into the root formation. He scored his first goal a month later (6th matchday) in a 3-2 home win against CA Patronato . From the end of February 2019 he had to take a month off because of a broken nose. In his first season he came to 11 league games in which he scored two goals.

In the following season 2019/20 he was only used sporadically at the beginning. In November he established himself again in the starting lineup. On December 1 (15th matchday) he scored both goals for his team in a 2-0 home win against CA Patronato. He finished the season with five goals, which he could achieve in 12 league games.

On August 1, 2020, Gaich moved to the Russian first division club CSKA Moscow , where he signed a five-year contract.

National team

With the Argentine U20 national team he took part in the U20 South American Championship 2019 in Chile . He was used in all nine games in which he scored three goals. He scored all goals in the 3-0 win against Venezuela . In May 2019 he was called up to the U20 squad for the U20 World Cup in Poland . There he met in the first group game in the 5-2 win against South Africa after being substituted on and also scored a goal in the 2-0 win against Portugal in the second game. In the last 16 against Mali , he scored again and converted his attempt in the lost penalty shoot-out.

From the end of July to the beginning of August 2019, he took part in the Pan-American Games in Lima with the Argentine U23 team. There he led his home country to victory in the tournament with six goals in five appearances.

After the impressive performance at the Pan American Games, he was nominated in August by Lionel Scaloni , the national coach of the A-selection , for the friendly internationals against Chile and Mexico. He made his debut in a 4-0 win over Mexico on September 11, when he came on as a substitute for Rodrigo de Paul in the closing stages .
