Federico Páez
Federico Páez (* 1880 in Quito ; † 1974 there ) was an Ecuadorian engineer and dictator of his country from September 26, 1935 to October 22, 1937.
Páez was educated in France and Belgium and after his return to Ecuador was made Minister for Public Works by Velasco Ibarra during his presidency from 1934 to 1935. After this was overthrown in 1935, the interim President Antonio Pons transferred the presidency to Páez. In 1937 Páez called a constituent assembly from which he was elected interim president until Alberto Enríquez Gallo overthrew him.
