Finola Dwyer
Finola Dwyer ONZM (* in the 20th century ) is a New Zealand film producer . She became known through films such as Silent Screams , My Best Friend , Dean Spanley , An Education and Brooklyn - A Love Between Two Worlds .
life and career
Finola Dwyer began her work in film in the mid-1980s, first as a film editor for the two New Zealand productions Trial Run and Die Brücke ins Jenseits . She then switched to film production. In 1986 Finola Dwyer produced the drama Queen City Rocker directed by Bruce Morrison. Other films as a film producer followed, such as the film drama Hotel under the stars by director Sam Pillsbury or the war drama with Gabriel Byrne A Soldier's Tale by Larry Parr.
During the 1990s she was involved in films such as BackBeat - The Truth About the Beatles with Stephen Dorff , Angela Pope's film drama called Lautlose Schreie or the crime film The Lost Son with Daniel Auteuil and Nastassja Kinski . In the 2000s she produced films such as My Best Friend by director Sandra Goldbacher, the horror thriller Severance by Christopher Smith and the New Zealand drama Dean Spanley with Jeremy Northam , Sam Neill , Bryan Brown and Peter O'Toole in the lead roles.
In 2010 she received the Nick Hornby adaptation An Education in the cast Carey Mulligan , Peter Sarsgaard and Alfred Molina in the category Best Film at the ceremony in 2010 her first Oscar nomination along with her colleague Amanda Posey . In 2012 she was involved in Dustin Hoffman's comedy quartet with Maggie Smith , Michael Gambon and Billy Connolly . In 2014 she supported the cinema production A Long Way Down , based on the Hornby novel of the same name , with Pierce Brosnan in the lead role. At the award ceremony in 2016 , she finally received another Oscar nomination in the category of best film for her engagement in the film Brooklyn - A Love Between Two Worlds together with Amanda Posey .
