Fischhof is a hamlet in the Iphöfer district of Dornheim in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Geographical location

The Fischhof is located in the extreme southeast of the Iphöfer municipality about 1.8 km east of the center of Dornheim am Gießgraben . About 0.9 km up the stream in the southwest on the left side of the Schenkensee , which is a protected natural monument , about 0.6 km to the north in the forest on the heights to the left of the valley of the Sperbersee. The district road KT 3 leads from Dornheim past the farm towards Markt Bibart in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Middle Franconia further to the east. To the south is the forester's house in the so-called Limpurger Forest. The Sulzbach desert is presumably located in the area of the Fischhof.

history

The place name of the farm goes back to the natural occurrences in the area. There were probably originally several lakes around the courtyard, so that it was the "courtyard at the fish ponds ". The lakes were later converted into fields; the Brunnsee fields still existed in the 19th century. In the past, reading findings were often made during field work. Vessels from the Paleolithic and remains of the Celtic late Latène period were discovered .

The Fischhof was indirectly located as early as 1423. Lakes near Dornheim were also mentioned in a conciliation document between the Counts of Castell and the Hochstift Würzburg . The farm was first mentioned directly, however, only in 1799. It was described as being located on the “Weg gegen Altmannshausen”. At that time it was a mansion on the edge of the Limpurger area. In 1830 the Fischhof was owned by the Bavarian noblemen von Schwarzenberg .
