Location of the Gumpertsmühle (bold) in the Iphöfer municipality

Gumpertsmühle is a wasteland in the district of Iphofen in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Geographical location

The Gumpertsmühle is located in the far west of the Iphöfer district on the Sickersbach . State road 2420 continues to the north in the direction of Rödelsee . It separates the mill from Iphofen to the east. To the south are the federal road 8 and the Knauf Gips site . The district of Mainbernheim begins further to the west . The chain mill , also on the Sickersbach, is closest to the Gumpertsmühle.

history

The Gumpertsmühle, which probably got its name from the miller at the time, was first mentioned in 1603. At that time, Hanns Müller was an existing miller on the "Gumpertsmühl". The mill was probably owned by the city of Iphofen, which gave it to tenants for a few years. In 1623 Valentin Emmerich owned the mill and was called "Gumpertsmüller". Ten years later, in 1633, Müller paid Martin Dorsch citizens' money in Iphofen .

Perhaps the mill came into the hands of the Cistercian monks from the Ebrach monastery in the following years, since in 1653 the castler of the Ebracher monastery in Iphofen, Martin Welschen, is proven to be the miller of the Gumpertsmühle. In 1835 the Gumpertsmühle was called a grinding and cutting mill . At that time it is said to have belonged to the St. Johannes Hospital and the city of Iphofen.
