The Haugesund Airport (. Norw Haugesund Lufthavn , IATA code : HAU , ICAO code : ENHD ) on the island of Karmøy in Norway is operated by the company Avinor AS. The airport has daily flights to Oslo , Bergen , Copenhagen and several times a week to London . SAS , Widerøe and Ryanair fly to the airport. The airport is also used for charter flights .

The airport opened in 1975. It is located on the west coast of Karmøy, the runway ends at the North Sea. Despite the harsh weather conditions with strong winds and frequent fog, the airfield usually has the most punctual departures in Norway.

In 2004, the airport had a regularity of 98.1 percent (i.e. only 77 out of 4116 planned flights were canceled). The punctuality is 91.3 percent (338 of 3893 flights were delayed).

Of the 662,076 passengers who traveled through the airport in 2012, 438,286 were domestic passengers and 223,790 international passengers (Ryanair and Charter).

In addition to the professional air traffic, the airport is used for glider pilots ( Haugaland Seilflyklubb ).

Since May 12, 2019, the airport has no longer been operated by the state-owned Avinor, but has been privately operated by Lufthavndrift AS for 20 years.

A shuttle bus runs to the town of Haugesund, about 15 kilometers to the north .
