It is located in the province of Nordland in Lofoten in the municipality of Vågan , around six kilometers east of the town of Svolvær .

The airport is operated by the Norwegian state - owned company Avinor .

The airport is only served by the Norwegian regional airline Widerøe (as of September 2013). There are direct scheduled flights to Bodø , Leknes , Stokmarknes and Tromsø .
