Frédérick Bousquet (born June 8, 1981 in Perpignan ) is a French swimmer .
Career
On March 25, 2004, at the NCAA Championships in New York , he improved Mark Foster's three-year-old 50 m freestyle world record . It was only in 2006 that this record was broken by Roland Schoeman .
On June 19, 2008, he and Amaury Leveaux , Fabien Gilot and Bernard set the 4 × 100 m freestyle European record by 1.5 seconds to 03: 12.54 minutes. They missed the US season's world record by only 8 hundredths.
At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , he competed over the 100 m butterfly and was a member of the French 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, with which he won the silver medal.
In October 2010, Bousquet was suspended for two months by the French Swimming Association for doping. After a competition in Canet in June 2010 , the stimulant heptaminol was detected in his urine .
Private
Bousquet was in a relationship with swimmer Laure Manaudou until 2013 and has had a daughter with her since 2010.
In 2009 there were plans for a film about the French swimmer Alfred Nakache , in which Bousquet would play the leading role and Manaudaou the wife of Nakache. The project has not yet materialized because the von Nakache family rejects it.
