Frank Strauss

Frank Strauss (born February 3, 1970 in Heide ) is a German banker , former professional ice hockey player and former board member of Deutsche Bank and Postbank .

Ice hockey career

Frank Strauss began his ice hockey career in his hometown Iserlohn at the ECD Sauerland . After a few years in the youth team, he made the leap to the professional team in 1989. In the following four years he completed a total of 140 games for the Sauerland in the second-highest division . The striker scored 27 goals during that time. Between 1993 and 1995 he played for ERC Westfalen Dortmund , first in the third-class league , then in the second-highest league, the 1st League North . Within the same league, he joined the EC Bad Nauheim in the following years until 1998 . Frank Strauss ended his sporting career on January 6, 1998 in order to have more time for his job.

Professional career

In addition to his sports career, Frank Strauss completed an apprenticeship at the Deutsche Bank branch in Iserlohn from 1989 to 1992 . After completing his apprenticeship, he became a consultant for private and business customers until he took over the deputy management in another branch in the Sauerland. In the 1990s he took on tasks for Deutsche Bank in Bonn and Frankfurt am Main . Between 2003 and 2005, he built up Deutsche Bank's private customer business from Mumbai in India , Vietnam and China .

He then moved again to Frankfurt am Main , where Frank Strauss was responsible for the German market as a member of the board of directors of the private and business customer bank from 2006 to 2019 . Frank Strauss was a member of the Postbank Management Board since July 2011. He also held the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank Bauspar AG, Postbank Finanzberatung AG , BHW Holding AG, BHW Bausparkasse AG and Norisbank AG . From 1 July 2012 to 24 May 2018, he was Chairman of the Management Board Deutsche Postbank AG and triggered Stefan Jütte in this function off. From September 2017 to July 2019, Strauss was a member of the Management Board of Deutsche Bank.
