Frankfort is the old English and Dutch spelling of Frankfurt and corresponds to the pronunciation of the name of Frankfurt in the dialect of the city of Frankfurt am Main . The spelling is also common - besides Frankford - in the dialect literature of the southern Hessian dialects (e.g. Friedrich Stoltze ).
