Franz Friedrich Karl Ernst von Klüx (born July 16, 1776 in Halle ; † July 9, 1858 in Neusalz an der Oder ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

His parents were the Prussian Major General Wolfgang Heinrich Ernst von Klüx (1728–1805) and his wife Luise Ferdinande, born von Zehmen called von Braun (1738–1789). His brother Joseph Friedrich Karl Leopold also became a Prussian general.

Military career

On December 1, 1789, Klux joined the Fusilier Battalion No. 1 as a private corporal . On May 19, 1792, he became a portepeef ensign. During the First Coalition War he fought in the cannonade near Valmy , the skirmishes near Islettes, Aldenhoven, Eschweiler, Tongern, Tirlemont, Neerwind, Wörth, Neustadt, Neukirchen, Rheinböllen, Waldalgesheim. He also fought in the battle of Kaiserslautern , where he was wounded. For his success he received a royal gift of 1000 thalers on March 18, 1819 and the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class, on September 9, 1819 . On March 30, 1821, he was promoted to major general and on July 26, 1825, the Prussian service cross. In addition, on September 9, 1828, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves. Because of his age, he was entrusted with the management of the Neisse fortress on July 28, 1832 and also acted as commander of the 12th division from September 4, 1832 .

On September 9, 1835, Klüx received the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves, and on September 30, 1835, the Russian Order of St. Anne, 1st Class. On March 30, 1836, he was also promoted to lieutenant general. But on August 12, 1837 he was put up for disposal with a pension of 3430 thalers .
