In his assessment from 1821 it says: “Colonel von Haine is worthy of respect both as a person and as a soldier, has always led his battalion well in war and in peace and has earned the love of his superiors. He applies the experiences he has acquired before peace to the best of his ability to instruct his subordinates. The same thing has now been completely restored, and the consequences of his long illness have been completely remedied, according to medical evidence. This seems to confirm his previous service management, in that he can carry out every service himself on foot and on horseback. "
