Franziska Rutishauser (born July 12, 1962 in Münsingen BE ) is a Swiss artist .

Life

Franziska Rutishauser grew up in the cantons of Bern and Zurich . Her father's geological field studies enabled her to gain early impressions of nature in the high mountains . From 1982 to 1988 she studied at the School of Design (today Bern University of the Arts ) and the University of Bern. Photography and film as well as painting became her means of expression. The first exhibitions took place in Bern and Switzerland, later also in Germany and Europe. Her works are in public and numerous private collections. Today she lives in Bern, Berlin and Nice.

Franziska Rutishauser works with the media of painting, drawing, photography, installation and object. The serial of the cinematic imagery was later reflected in slideshows and light box series. Her work mostly takes place in work cycles. For example, the cycle “Memories” was created in 2001 based on the motif of photographic travel impressions and based on the BSE crisis. "The photograph is of central importance for them as it serves you both as a tool for their painting and drawing works, the other as a form of expression [...]."
