Fred Kurt Alfons Kronström (born February 6, 1899 in Berlin or Christiansand , † December 31, 1993 in Berlin) was a Norwegian-German actor and singer .

Life

Fred Kronström, of Norwegian- German origin, trained as an actor from 1920 to 1923 at the German Theater School . He had his first stage engagements as a young comedian and operetta buffo at the Olympia-Theater in Dortmund and as an operetta buffo at the Duisburg theater . Since the late 1920s he worked as a theater actor, mainly on various Berlin theaters. He also acted in over 100 silent films . Some silent films, he has also served as assistant director and manager operates. He also emerged as a singer and made recordings . In the 1930s he appeared in operettas in Berlin , a genre to which he later remained faithful.

Since 1945 he was a member of the Metropoltheater in Berlin. After the Second World War , he appeared at the Metropoltheater in the operetta Die Zirkusprinzessin in 1946 . His partner was Sonja Ziemann in the role of circus rider Mabel Gibson . In 1948 he took over Kalchas in the operetta Die Schöne Helena . In 1955 he was seen at the Metropoltheater in the world premiere of the operetta Masquerade der Liebe by Ernst-Peter Hoyer / Arnold Bormann in the role of Nimrod. From 1955 to 1974, after the theater moved to the Admiralspalast , he continued to work as an actor and singer at the Berlin Metropoltheater . He was there again in various operettas and musical revues . As a comedian he appeared there in the operetta Die Fledermaus , sang with Erna Haffner and played in the Walter Kollo operetta Drei alten Schachteln . In 1957, Fred Kronström performed the world premiere of the GDR operetta Who Needs Money? by Guido Masanetz with. In 1962 he was the god father Jupiter in the Jacques Offenbach operetta Orpheus in der Unterwelt . He was made an honorary member of the Metropolitan Theater.

At RIAS Berlin emerged radio recordings of operetta in which Kronström participated, including The Merry Widow , The Teresina by Oscar Straus and The Land of Smiles .

Kronström, a "very comedic actor", took on a few supporting roles at DEFA and DFF . King curmudgeon in the fairy tale film The Brave Little Tailor (1956) is considered to be his most beautiful role .
