Peace Clausz
Friede Clausz (born July 17, 1986 in Halle ) is a German cameraman .
Life and work
Clausz grew up in a family of musicians in Halle (Saale) and has played the cello for 14 years since he was six . Later he was the drummer of the punk band 206. Shortly after graduating from the University of Television and Film in Munich , he was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talents . His center of life is currently in Halle / Leipzig and temporarily in Mexico .
Since 2011 he has made a number of feature films , documentaries and short films . The short film Teardrop won awards in the Best Camera category at three different film festivals and was nominated for the “Golden Tadpole” at the Plus Camerimage film festival .
The documentary Wasteland - So that nobody noticed it was nominated for the “Transparent Bear” at the 63rd Berlinale and also won various awards. His debut film Los Ángeles by Damian John Harper , shot in Mexico, celebrated its world premiere at the 64th Berlinale and won the LA Muse Award at the LA Film Fest, the First Steps Award and the Best Debut Film Award at the Biberach Film Festival and the Film Festival Guadalajara FICG.
The feature film 24 weeks by Anne Zohra Berrached with Julia Jentsch and Bjarne Mädel in the leading roles was nominated for the golden bear in the competition at the 66th Berlinale . The film was shown at numerous national and international festivals and was awarded many prizes.
In 2015 Clausz was on the jury of the film festival “Film Kunst Tage” together with Franz Rogowski and David Wnendt .
In 2016 he was accepted as the youngest cameraman in the Cinematography Association.
