The Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium is a state high school in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf . In 2006 the school celebrated its 100th anniversary.
building
The current school building, erected between 1910 and 1912 according to a design by the architect Otto Herrnring , is listed as a monument in the Berlin State Monument List. The Peter-A.-Silbermann-Schule evening grammar school is also located in the same building .

The school is located directly at the Volkspark Wilmersdorf at a branch of the Blissestraße.
Furnishing
Since 2005 the school has had a new building with modern subject rooms for the fields of chemistry, physics, computer science and music. The old building was then renovated and modernized. In autumn 2010 the school was equipped with interactive whiteboards . There are also three computer rooms and a laptop cart.

The Shakespeare Players
The school is known for its theatrical performances in English, which have been taking place since 2000. The plays listed so far are all by William Shakespeare . The Shakespeare Players are explicitly listed as amateur theater on the British Theater Guide website . You have now appeared on various professional stages with several guest performances and performed your self-composed musical by The Tempest (2007) during the conference of the German Shakespeare Society in Bochum. Since 2007 they have had a theater exchange with Welsh Merthyr Tydfil College, reported on by the BBC.
On June 8, 2018, the Foreign Language Editing of the Collegium Polonicum in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium and the Shakespeare Players invited to Shakespeare Day in Slubice . Organized by Astrid Kapler (Collegium Polonicum) and Martina Baasner (Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium / Shakespeare Players ), students were first introduced to theater work in workshops and then the Shakespeare Players performed their staging of the play " Macbeth ".
On March 10, 2020, "The Shakespeare Gala - Best of the Bard" was performed as a guest performance in the Junge Theater in the Kleist Forum in Frankfurt / Oder. Here, too, there were workshops in advance for the young theatergoers.

Schüfschü , short for pupils for pupils , is a homework support project. Here, high school students help middle school students at risk of being transferred to do their homework.
Sports
The Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium offers numerous sports groups such as boxing, hockey, basketball, etc. In 2006, the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium won the School Finals Berlin in streetball . In July 2009 the school's first annual basketball tournament took place, which was organized and supervised by Armin Mutapčić, son of the reigning German national basketball coach, Emir Mutapčić . The school also takes part in various competitions and championships.
Awards
Pupils who excelled in the past school year through special achievements in the field of sport or who worked in the SchüfSchü project will be honored by the school principal at the beginning of the new school year. Awards in other areas are also possible. In general, all teachers in the grammar school have the right to propose a student.
