Heiko Stang (born February 8, 1963 in East Berlin ) is a German actor , singer , director and author .

Life

He grew up in Baumschulenweg , in the Berlin district of Treptow-Köpenick , and was initially trained as a telecommunications engineer. As a child he took guitar lessons from his uncle Siegfried Uhlenbrock before beginning his musical training at the Friedrichshain Music School in 1985 . From 1988 to 1992 he studied singing with Traute Kottusch and Ruth Hohmann at the "Hanns Eisler" Academy of Music in Berlin. a. trained in acting and piano. He studied arrangement with Prof. Alfons Wonneberg and graduated in 1992 as a singing teacher . After his state examination he came to the music theater in 1993 through an engagement as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar on the stages of the city of Gera . He played u. a. the leading roles in the musicals Cabaret , West Side Story , La Cage Aux Folles , Grease , Godspell, Elisabeth , Tanz der Vampire , Titanic , Evita , Anatevka , Kiss Me Kate .

Heiko Stang worked as a performing artist at various theaters in Germany and Austria such as u. a. Friedrichstadt-Palast , Opernhaus Halle , Landestheater Eisenach , Raimundtheater , Neuköllner Oper , Theater an der Wien , Neue Flora Hamburg , Staatstheater Braunschweig , Staatstheater Kassel and directed by Peter Lund, Dietmar Seyffert, Eddy Habbema, Harry Kupfer and Roman Polanski .

In addition to his work as a performing artist, he has also worked as a director, author and composer since 2006. In 2007 he staged and wrote the music and the lyrics for the Christmas musical A Little Little Christmas for the Christmas Magic Gendarmenmarkt and staged various gala a. a. in the Berlin Konzerthaus with the Babelsberg German Film Orchestra . At the world premiere of the musical version of Rolf Hochhuth's Inselkomödie with Johannes Heesters in the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm in 2010 he took over the directing at short notice and staged the musical and scenic reading by Jentl based on Isaac Bashevis Singer in 2012 at the Stadttheater Cöpenick Berlin, for which he also did the stage version and wrote the German lyrics.

His musical adaptation, Der Hauptmann von Köpenick, based on the tragic comedy of the same name by Carl Zuckmayer , had its world premiere in 2015 in Berlin's City Hall in Köpenick . For this he wrote the music as well as the lyrics and directed.
