Friedrich Christoph Christian von Rindtorf (* 1699 ; † December 27, 1745 ) was a Prussian major general , knight of the order Pour le Mérite , chief of regiment No. 46 , heir to Rindtorf , Großalsleben and Ballenstedt and canon of the Nikolaistift Magdeburg .

Life

His parents were Daniel Karl von Rindtorf (1664–1703) and his wife Elisabeth Amalie, born von Kotwitz († 1752). His father was Drost in Benneckenstein and heir of Rindtorf. His sister Sophia Elisabeth Henriette (December 15, 1694 - January 18, 1776) was married to Colonel Johann Friedrich Freiherr von Printzen (December 27, 1680 - May 14, 1740).

Military career

Rindtorf was brought up at home and came to Friedrich I's court as a page . After his death in 1713, King Friedrich Wilhelm I sent him to Magdeburg as a cadet . In 1714 he was accepted into the Infantry Regiment "Anhalt" No. 3 as a flag junior . He fought with the regiment in the Pomeranian campaign in 1715/16 . In 1715 he became an ensign and in 1716 a second lieutenant . When a third battalion was set up in 1718 , Rindtorf became prime lieutenant there . In 1722 he was transferred from King Friedrich Wilhelm I to Regiment No. 27 under Max Leopold von Anhalt-Dessau , where he was given his own company . He was able to supplement them with advertising , especially in Holstein . On June 18, 1736, beef peat was promoted to major .

During the First Silesian War he advanced with the regiment in Silesia to conquer Glogau on March 9, 1741 . On April 10th he fought in the Battle of Mollwitz , where the regiment captured a standard . On April 22, 1741 he became a lieutenant colonel . In the following year, Rindtorf fought in the Battle of Chotusitz on February 21, 1745 . There he received the order Pour le Mérite for his bravery and on January 21, 1745 he also became a colonel . His regiment was part of the troops that Prince Leopold von Anhalt-Dessau ordered to the Saxon border. Rindtorf was already ill when he was seriously wounded on December 15, 1745 in the battle of Kesselsdorf . When the chief of Regiment No. 46, Ernst Ludwig von Goetze , died on December 19 of his injuries from the battle, the king appointed him successor and major general.

Rindtorf died on December 27, 1745 and was buried in the hereditary funeral in Rindtorf.

family

On January 18, 1730, he married Charlotte Sophie von Kotze († 1759), daughter of the heir of Groß Germersleben and Klein Germersleben, Christian Ehrenfried von Kotze. His only son Friedrich Leopold (born November 3, 1745) fell on November 3, 1760 as a lieutenant in the infantry regiment "von Braunschweig" No. 39 in the battle of Torgau .
