Friedrich Leopold von Zaluskowski

Friedrich Leopold von Zaluskowski (born January 19, 1786 in Narzym , † January 16, 1857 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 2nd Infantry Brigade .

Life

Friedrich was the son of Adam von Zaluskowski and his wife Anna Karoline Sophie, née Krause. His father was a Second Lieutenant a. D. , most recently in the Hussar Regiment “von Wuthenau” and Mr. auf Narzym.

Military career

Zaluskowski visited the cadet houses in Kulm and Berlin . On March 29, 1800 he came as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "von Ruits" of the Prussian army and advanced to December 1806 to secondary lieutenant. In the Fourth Coalition War he fought near Preussisch Eylau , Kreuzburg, Braunsberg and was wounded at the Passarge .

After January 1, 1808 he was transferred to the 1st Pomeranian Infantry Regiment and served as a battalion adjutant until 1813. In the campaign against Russia in 1812 Zaluskowski fought in the battles near Eckau, Wollgrund and Ruhenthal.

During the Wars of Liberation he fought in the battle near Velitz , where his horse was shot, but he received a commendation. Zaluskowski then took part in the battle near Hoyerswerda and earned the Iron Cross 2nd class near Thießen . He then fought at Elster, Hoogstaeten, Lier, Sweweghem and the sieges of Wittenberg, Namur, Maubeuge, Landrecies, Rocroy and Givet as well as the battles of Großbeeren , Dennewitz , Leipzig and Ligny , where he was awarded the Iron Cross 1st class. Zaluskowski was regimental adjutant from 1813 to 1815 and was promoted to staff captain until the end of May 1814 . On April 27, 1815 he was injured in the adjutantage and on June 7, 1815 was promoted to captain . As such, Zaluskowski was active from October 5, 1815 as an adjutant to Major General von Bose .

On February 1, 1816, he was transferred as an adjutant to the Landwehr Inspection in Köslin . On March 30, 1818 he came to the 3rd Division as an adjutant and was promoted to major on April 2, 1820 with a patent from April 10, 1820 . On March 30, 1823 he came to the 5th Infantry Regiment as a battalion commander . On May 29, 1832 he was transferred to Stettin, where he served as commander of the 1st Battalion in the 2nd Landwehr Regiment. On March 30, 1837 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel with a patent from April 12, 1837 and transferred to the 9th Infantry Regiment . On October 17, 1816, he married Emilie Luise Ernestine Henriette Josephine von Podewils (1792-1822) in Köslin . After her death, he married Emilie Antoinette Marianne Jacobi in Potsdam on March 2, 1823, a daughter of the Secret Accountant Jacobi. The couple had several children:
