Friedrich Lindemann (writer)

Friedrich Eduard Carl Lindemann (born January 4, 1898 in Bremen ; † February 11, 1950 there ) was a German writer and journalist .

Live and act

Lindemann was born in Bremen in 1898 as the son of a customs inspector. After attending the secondary school there , he volunteered in 1915 to take part in the First World War . After the end of the war he studied German , English and history in Marburg and Hamburg.

Lindemann began his journalistic career as editor of the Lower Saxony magazine . During the Second World War he served as a liaison officer . He was taken prisoner of war, from which he did not return to Bremen until 1947.

In addition to his work as a journalist, he published dramatic works and stories in both High German and Low German , the actions of which were based in his northern German homeland. Lindemann was a member of the North German authors' association Die Kogge .
