Friedrich Sitzler
Friedrich Georg Sitzler (born August 10, 1881 in Tauberbischofsheim , † January 22, 1975 in Stuttgart ) was a German labor lawyer .
Career
Sitzler was born as the son of high school professor Jakob Sitzler . He studied law and economics at the universities in Strasbourg , Berlin , Heidelberg and Freiburg . During his studies he became a member of the old Strasbourg fraternity Alemannia Hamburg in 1902 .
After the state examination in law, he entered the higher administrative service of the state of Baden . From 1910 he was initially a laborer, from 1915 a permanent employee at the Reich Insurance Office . In 1917 he came to the Reich Office of the Interior , then to the Reich Ministry of Economics and the Reich Ministry of Labor in Berlin, where he served as ministerial director and head of the department for labor law, occupational safety and wage policy from 1921 to 1933. In 1933 he moved for a short time as head of division to the International Labor Office in Geneva, until the Germans left the organization in October 1933. From 1942 to 1945 he was head of the social department at Bleyle in Stuttgart. In addition, he wrote reports for the " Ergonomics Institute " of the DAF and kept in contact with older organizations of social policy that were active in business interests and that he knew from earlier.
In February 1947 he received an honorary professorship for labor law at the University of Heidelberg. At the same time, he taught labor law at the Mannheim Business School .
1952 to 1957 he was chairman of a corporatist society for social progress .
Sitzler has emerged with numerous publications on labor law and social policy. He was a co-founder and long-time editor of the Neue Zeitschrift für Arbeitsrecht (1921–1933), a frequent contributor to the journal Soziale Praxis during the Nazi era (1936–1942), and the social practice department in the Blattei-Handbuch Rechts- und Wirtschaftspraxis.
