Friedrich Heinrich Joseph Karl Ferdinand Felix von Frankenberg and Proschlitz (born January 9, 1791 in Spandau , † September 14, 1858 in Riesenburg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Friedrich was a son of the Prussian Colonel a. D. Ferdinand Joseph Leopold Frankenberg and Proschlitz (1743–1825) and his wife Katharina Dorothea Luise, born von Bredow (1768–1807).

Military career

Frankenberg attended the Berlin Cadet House and was a student at the École militaire. After the Fourth Coalition War , he was employed on May 15, 1809 as a secondary lieutenant in the Brandenburg Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army and in 1810/12 he was sent to the General War School for further training . During the Wars of Liberation Frankenberg received a commendation for his behavior in the Battle of Großgörschen and took part in the battles near Bautzen , Kulm and Leipzig . For Paris he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class.

On June 1, 1814, he was transferred to the Guards Artillery Brigade and on May 12, 1815, he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant . On January 15, 1816, Frankenberg received the Order of St. Vladimir IV. Class with a bow and became captain at the end of May 1816 . On January 16, 1817, he was assigned to serve with the Inspector General of Artillery , Prince August of Prussia. He then worked from June 17, 1817 to March 1, 1827 as an adjutant at the General Inspection of the Artillery. Then Frankenberg was appointed as a major department commander in the Guards Artillery Brigade. From November 30, 1828 he also acted as a member of the examination committee for artillery prime lieutenants. Under aggregation he was commissioned on April 18, 1831 to lead the 8th Artillery Brigade and on February 10, 1832 Frankenberg was appointed brigadier. In this capacity he rose to colonel by September 1840 . On January 4, 1844, he was commissioned to carry out the business as inspector of the 1st Artillery Inspection and aggregated Frankenberg of the 8th Artillery Brigade. After he was appointed inspector on September 2, 1844, Frankenberg became major general on March 27, 1847. He took his leave on October 18, 1851 with the statutory pension, conferring the character of Lieutenant General .

After his departure, Frankenberg received on January 4, 1853 the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves. He died on September 14, 1858 in Riesenburg.

Prince August von Prussia wrote in his assessment: “A very useful officer who has a very good knowledge of artillery and fortification and tries to expand them. His fortunate dispositions have been developed through a general education with which he carries out his official business. "

Frankenberg married on May 13, 1733 in Koblenz Amalie August Maria Malvine von Ribbentrop (1808–1868), a daughter of the secret war councilor Erich von Ribbentrop (1777–1843). The couple had several children:
