Location of Friedrichswalde in Saxony

Friedrichswalde is a district of Bahretal in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

geography

Ev. Friedrichswalde Church

Friedrichswalde is located southeast of the Saxon state capital Dresden in the north of the municipality Bahretal, which in turn is located in the center of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district. The Waldhufendorf is located on the northern roof of the eastern Ore Mountains in the Elbe valley slate area . The location is on the Friedrichswalder Bach in an orographically left side hollow of the valley of the bier , which is dammed above the place in the retention basin Friedrichswalde-Ottendorf . In addition to the Friedrichswalder Church, the townscape is characterized by several stately three-sided courtyards , a housing estate in the southeast of the town that was built after the fall of the Wall, and the large quarry north of Friedrichswalde, where the ProStein Diabas company mines . Edge areas of the district , especially the steep slopes on the narrow valley of the bier north of the locality, are forested. A large part of the 442 hectares of land is used for agricultural purposes.

Friedrichswalde has grown together with the neighboring Bahretaler district of Ottendorf to a double village , only separated by the stretcher , which from 1970 to 1994 formed the municipality of Friedrichswalde-Ottendorf . With Gersdorf in the southeast, Borna in the south, Nentmannsdorf in the west and the Niederseidewitzer Flur with Oberseidewitz in the north, four other districts of Bahretal border. Neighboring northeast is Dohma .

The most important road on Friedrichswalder Flur is the federal motorway 17 from Dresden to Prague , which leads past the town to the west and there is connected to the state road 170n in the form of the junction Bahretal. From Nentmannsdorf, the state road bypasses the districts of Friedrichswalde and Ottendorf to the north, crosses the Bahretal on a 325 m long and up to 28 m high bridge and establishes the connection with the eastern Dohma district of Cotta . District road 8732 branches off from here and opens up the village centers of Friedrichswalde and Ottendorf. Friedrichswalde is connected to Borna and Gersdorf in a southerly direction and to the Pirna district of Beimendorf via Kreisstrasse 8757 in the Bahretal . Friedrichswalde is connected to the regional bus network of Saxon Switzerland and Eastern Ore Mountains (RVSOE) .
