In Le Havre, the Dutch scored 0-0 after 90 minutes against the ČSR , a secret favorite of the tournament. In extra time, however, Kostalek, Nejedlý and Zeman scored to make it 3-0 for the Czechoslovaks, and the Dutch team had to return home as expected.
