Günther Schwarz (politician)

Günther Schwarz (born November 11, 1941 in Niederwürzbach ) is a Saarland lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After studying law, Schwarz worked as a judge at the Ottweiler District Court from 1969 and then at the Saarbrücken Regional Court . In 1974 he moved to the Saarland Ministry of the Environment. He was a member of the Saarland state parliament from 1975 to 1990. There he was, among other things, chairman of the legal committee, parliamentary managing director of the CDU and from 1985 chairman of the parliamentary group. After his retirement from parliament he was appointed director of Neunkirchen District Court appointed. From 2000 until his retirement in 2005 he was President of the Saarbrücken Regional Court.

From 1980 to 1994, Schwarz was CDU district chairman in the Saarpfalz district .

voluntary work

Schwarz has been a member of the board of the Union Stiftung Saar since 1997 . He advises the foundation on legal issues and deals with senior policy issues. In the same year his involvement with the Bund against alcohol and drugs in road traffic began . He was one of the initiators of the "Saarbob" prevention project, which aimed at the responsible use of alcohol and other drugs while driving. Since 1998 he has been a member of the Saarland Sisters' Association. He also helps in the ecumenical welfare station St. Ingbert. Since 2008 he has been the chairman of the Saarland Seniors' Union .
