Walter Lorang

Walter Lorang (born October 7, 1905 in Neunkirchen , † April 4, 1972 ibid) was a Saarland politician ( CVP / CDU ).

Lorang completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter from 1920 to 1923 and then his time as a journeyman . In 1932 he made his own and put 1934 the master craftsman from. In 1941 he was called up for military service in the Navy. After the war he was head master of the carpenter's guild in the district of Ottweiler from 1946 . In 1950 he became second chairman of the Saar carpenter and glazier association, and from 1954 he was a member of the advisory board of the Saarland Chamber of Crafts.

Lorang was a member of the Christian People's Party of the Saarland (CVP) from its foundation until 1947. He joined the CDU in 1955 and was elected district chairman of Ottweiler that same year. From 1956 to 1970 he held a mandate in the Saarland state parliament . There he was from November 1959 to January 1961 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and during the fourth legislative period (1961-1965) as second secretary member of the state parliament presidium.
