history

Sheepfold of the estate on the dairy farm

The area was inhabited since early times. Neolithic (3500 to 1700 BC) trough mills and stone tools, a settlement from the Roman Empire (0 to 400) and two late Slavic (1000 to 1200) settlements are archaeologically proven.

The dairy was laid out as the Vorwerk of the Wieck estate after 1835, according to the Prussian original table sheet .

"Gützkow Meierei" was first mentioned as a village in 1957 in the list of places. The name "Wieck Meierei" was also used there.

When Gut Wieck reached its economic climax, in addition to the many new buildings in the family estate, a farm for cattle breeding was also necessary. For a long time a flock of sheep was kept there in the large stable building. Right next to the economic settlement there was an older farmstead, the Wiecker Fischerhaus, later called the Fischerhaus Dalugt (after its owner). The family also had a bar in their homestead for anglers and boaters. It has now been removed down to the remains of the foundation.

The Wieck dairy also had a bulwark on the Peene for loading agricultural products. In 1886, Lepel had a 4 km long stationary field railway built from the estate via the dairy to the Peenebollwerk . This enabled the products to be transported from the farm to the river and the respective harvested goods from the fields to the farm stores. In 1892, a second 3.6 km long line followed, but not stationary, but variable in line. After the construction of the small railroad over the Wiecker Gut in the direction of the Gützkower starch factory and later to the Gützkower ferry , a beet loading station was built at the park in 1898, which was connected to a new 4.4 km long beet railway in the direction of the Gutsfelder an der Meierei.

Until 1928, the dairy was just a farmstead with a sheepfold and other farm buildings as part of the Wiecker estate in an estate district that was dissolved in the year. In 1932, when the Wiecker estate was settled, several farmsteads were built in the dairy for the new farmers. Lumber was partly felled in the Wieck fir trees, which were later completely cut down in the cold winters. With the construction of the settlers' farms, the dairy became a village. Farmer Haufler's homestead is a relatively original farm. This homestead form was an architectural design from Lower Saxony , where most of the new settlers came from.

In 1949 there were surveys of residents about the settlement of the Vargatz manor district from Gützkow to Bandelin , which was successful. The residents of the dairy wanted to go to the closer community of Breechen, but this was rejected. In 1960 all farmers in the dairy were forced to join the local LPG as members . The dairy farm played a subordinate role economically, after 1990 it became a quiet residential area with several newly built homes.

On December 31, 2014, Gützkow-Meierei had 51 residents with a main residence and 2 with a secondary residence.

On December 31, 2015, Gützkow-Meierei had 54 residents with a main residence and 2 with a secondary residence.
