The Gaißkogel , also Gaiskogel , is 2820 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Stubai Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol .
geography
The Gaißkogel is located south of the uppermost section of the Sellraintal with the Zirmbachalm ( 1792 m ), where the mountain falls with several branched ridges and karen . In the west, the Kühtai ski area extends into the Oberplenderle- Kar, where the Drei-Seen-Hütte and the Plenderlesseen are located. A pronounced ridge runs north of this Kars to the 2590 m high Plenderlesseekopf . To the southwest, a rocky ridge runs over the Gaißkogelscharte 2658 m and the 2808 m high Windegg to the 2807 m high Pockkogel . To the east lies the Kraspestal , which joins the Sellraintal near Haggen . The summit region of the Gaißkogel has a rocky character on all sides; in the areas below 2600 m , Schrofen terrain dominates .
ways
The normal route leads from Kühtai over the Plenderlesseen and the Gaißkogelscharte over steep blocks of difficulty I to the summit. This ascent is also done as a ski tour in winter , whereby the steep north-facing gullies and cirques to the Zirmbachalm or Haggen are mostly used as descent . The ascent from the west over the Plenderlesseekopf and the west ridge is much more difficult with a difficulty level of II-III.
