The General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport ( IATA code : PIA , ICAO code : KPIA ) is the commercial airport of the American metropolis Peoria in the US state of Illinois .
Location and transport links
General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport is located nine kilometers southwest of downtown Peoria. The Interstate 474 runs north-east of the airport, while the Illinois Route 116 north runs the airport.
General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport is not involved in local public transport ; passengers have to use rental cars, taxis and similar offers.

Runways
General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport has two runways . Runway 13/31 is 3,080 meters long and 46 meters wide, and the surface is made of asphalt. Runway 02/20 is 2,440 meters long and 46 meters wide, the surface is made of concrete.
Passenger terminal
General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport has two passenger terminals , these are located on the northern side of the airport premises. The domestic terminal has an area of 11,613 square meters and was opened in April 2011. There are seven with him in passenger boarding bridges equipped boarding gates . In 2016, the Ray LaHood International Terminal was opened east of the domestic terminal, which has an area of 2044 square meters and is equipped with two piers. Both domestic and international flights can be handled in the terminal.

Incidents
- On October 21, 1971 an ATECO Westwind II ( aircraft registration number N51CS) of Chicago & Southern Airlines coming from Chicago hit a power line on flight 804 during the approach and crashed. All 16 inmates were killed in the crash.
