The Team World Cup 2019 took place in his 12th host from 6 to 10 November at the Japanese Tokyo instead. The venue was the Tōkyō Taiikukan in the Sendagaya district ( Shibuya district ).
A total of twelve teams took part in each case: the five winners of the last continental championships, the runner-up in the last Pan American championship, host Japan and the five teams with the best placings at the last team world championship , with the world rankings from September 2019 being decisive in the event of an equal placement .
The twelve teams were divided into four groups of three teams each and played there in the mode of everyone against everyone . The group first and second advanced to the quarter-finals, where it continued in the knockout system . All games were played in the best-of-5 mode and thus consisted of a double and two to four singles, which, again played in the best-of-5 mode, each consisted of three to five sets.
