Geoffrey Kipkorir Kirui (born February 16, 1993 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .
Career
Kirui had his first international success at the 2011 Junior African Athletics Championships in Gaborone . There he won the gold medal over 10,000 meters . The following year won the bronze medal over 10,000 meters at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona . At the World Cross Country Championships 2013 in Bydgoszcz he finished 15th. In 2015 he finished fifth at the African Games in Brazzaville over 10,000 meters . In 2017 he won the Boston Marathon in 2:09:37 h and at the World Championships in London the gold medal in the marathon in 2:08:27 h. At the 2018 Boston Marathon , he was unable to defend his title and took second place. In the same year he was sixth in the Chicago Marathon in 2:06:45 h.
